Rooted

Rooted began on a heavily textured canvas that created a unique surface to explore layering and movement. I used the “mother color” process, choosing green as the foundation and adjusting its tones to create depth and variation throughout the piece. The branching tree was created using a credit card, adding structure and a visual resting place within the abstract background. Inspired by the feeling of an olive tree, this piece evokes a sense of connection, stability, and being grounded.
