About the Artist

Lisa Kisling Thompson is a self-taught artist whose creative journey began in childhood, nurtured by her mother, a talented artist herself. Growing up in a home where creativity was celebrated, Lisa found early inspiration in exploring various art mediums. Over the years, she refined her skills through workshops and hands-on practice, developing a unique style that is vibrant, textured, and deeply personal.

By profession, Lisa is a physician, and art has become her essential creative outlet—a balance to the structure of her medical work. Her pieces are inspired by the beauty and simplicity of everyday life, as well as her travels and the natural world. Each work reflects her passion for intuitively blending color, texture, and medium into one-of-a-kind creations.

Lisa works primarily on canvas and wood, experimenting with a variety of mediums to achieve dynamic, layered effects. The result is artwork that feels alive with movement and meaning, inviting viewers to connect with both the subject and the process behind it.

She currently lives in Lexington, Kentucky with her husband, Drew, and their beloved (and spoiled) cat, Luna.
