Luna was inspired by our own sweet cat, Luna. I wanted the painting to reflect the little details that make her part of our everyday life. The moons in the piece connect directly to her name—we rescued her on a full moon—so it felt fitting to include them as a subtle nod to her story.

To give the background more visual interest, I added a butterfly wing for texture and movement. And because Luna spends so much time on our screened-in patio watching the birds in our backyard, I collaged in a hand-painted bird to tie in one of her favorite pastimes.
