Though I have yet to make the pilgrimage to Sedona, I’ve longed for its arid landscapes, expansive skies, and the quiet majesty of the desert. Living amid Kentucky’s humid air, I found myself craving dryer winds and open spaces, a feeling that blossomed into this painting. Desert Rose captures that yearning and the way the desert makes me feel—spiritually grounded, deeply connected to the earth, and awed by its vast, serene beauty.
